Today, Federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau and Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit announced details of the 2022 Crop Insurance Program.
View the livestream of the announcement here. Saskatchewan Minister of Agriculture David Marit will announce the 2022 Crop Insurance Program at the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation’s Head Office on Tuesday, February 22, at 10:30 a.m. in Melville.
On Monday, November 1, 2021, the 2021 Canada-Saskatchewan Drought Response Initiative launched the application for its second payment. Producers can now complete an application form, detailing eligible livestock inventory as of December 31, 2021, and the Extraordinary Costs Self-Assessment. Payment Two requires a Premises Identification Number.
Producers who purchased a Livestock Price Insurance (LPI) policy are reminded they enter their claim window in the final four weeks of their policy. Settlement values reflect weekly market conditions and are determined using data collected from various auction markets across western Canada.
